Diane is not able to post to the group, so she kindly asked me to post a picture of the January Exchange that I sent her. I stitched a bourse for her (ironically she is the one that explained to me what they were :) ) using hand dyed evenweave that I dyed myself and DMC floss. It is part of the Blackbird Designs "Be Kind and True". I used a sage green moire fabric on the outside and mother of pearl buttons at the corners. Made it look a little antique I think. She liked it alot. I hope you all do as well! Oh , and I made the card too, it's a new addiction of mine!LOL

I received this wonderful package from Danielle and I am thrilled!

Danielle included a beautiful Christmas ornament she stitched and she added some lovely red beading for the holly. Some floss drop tags, which I was in desperate need of and a great selection of weeks dye works varigated floss and a skein of dmc floss. She totally spoiled me and I am loving it!!

Hi everyone,

I have some good news, and some bad news....
I have received a job offer that I couldn't pass up and I start Monday! The bad news is that I won't be able to keep up with some of the exchange blogs. I recieved this wonderful little mattress pincushion in the mail yesterday from Diane. Isn't it a cutie?! It's a Lizzie Kate pattern and she added the sweet little bug charm. She stitched our initials on the side and also "Ties That Bind Exchange, January 2010". There is also a cute little flower stitched on the buttom from the Housework Never Hurt Anyone also from LK.

Hi everyone, the snow just won't quit here and it's 16 degrees. My new home is cozy, however, and I only feel it when I let the dogs out. I won't be going out til spring planting!

We only have a small quartet for January's exchange, you can see the list at the right. My partner is Danielle and I will be emailing her after this post. I will also send an email to everyone with all email addresses so you can be in contact with each other.

Ask your partner about their particular likes and dislikes and make your little treasure for them accordingly.

Moving Day

Hello everyone! It's been a crazy few weeks with the holidays and getting ready to move! Today is the day we move and the truck is in the driveway. I thought I would just drop a line to update everyone. The cable/internet guy comes tomorrow (Sunday) can't believe they work on Sunday...anyway so things should be back to normal as far as blogging in a few days.

When I do get back I have a very pretty needle/scissors book pattern for you and other great New Years News!

The Christmas exchange is still going on and the ornaments are just lovely! However, we want to get things organized for January so everyone is set. You can stitch any little treasure you wish for your partner.

If you would like to participate January's exchange

1) Respond to this post with your email. I will then send you an invite which you must respond to in order to post to the group.

Rules

1) You may use any fibre or threads you wish and any pattern, just keep in mind your pals likes and dislikes.

2) Mail date will be the 15 of each month (or close to it depending on how the weekend falls)

3) Please be sure your little treasure is completely finished and ready for use or display.

I received my ornament from Leeanne today.The first thing I thought when I saw it was it looked like a vintage Christmas card. Thank you ,thank you, thank you!! It is lovely. I don't dare show my mom, she may swipe it! Just kidding! Did you dye the fabric yourself Leeanne? I've not ever seen that shade of aida before. It is placed on the side of the tree that faces the front door so everyone gets a Merry Christmas welcome when they come in the door. A pair of doves is hanging above it which adds to the vintage look.Thanks again Leeanne!

Wow, wow,wow! I am continually impressed by other stitchers abilities and Sharlotte's talent is surely to be amazed at! Here is what I received in the post today from her...

This ornament just sparkles with all the beadwork and metallic silver stitches. She did cross stitching and blackwork style stitch. Oh, I wish you could see how it glistens in the light! Sharlotte knew I had a big, retro, silver tree which I put blues, purples, and pink decorations on and this is just perfect. When I pulled it out of the package my daughter said " Oh, pretty! And it's perfect for your silver tree" well that pretty much says it.

Thank you so much for all the time you put into this Sharlotte! I treasure it!

Hi everyone,

I have been having fun stitching and trying to keep Levi from the scissors....no easy task as he is mesmorized by them for some reason. Anyway, I've also had fun wrapping up my exchange gifts and this one is winging its way to Canada for Aubree, who made me that fantastic Eiffel tower stocking ornament. I sure hope she likes it!

For my evening stitching I will be working on my Assisi Band Sampler and watching "Gaslight" (at 6pm EST on TCM- Turner Classic Movies) It stars Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer. This is a MUST SEE, fantastic movie if you get a chance to see it. If you can't, it is worth recording to view later.

Today the postman came bearing gifts! This wonderful ornament from Aubree.

The Eiffel Tower decked in holly! The stinking picture doesn't show the pretty holly in two tones of green and the burgundy berries, also the Noel is done in burgundy. And all around she added white quaker snow flakes, just beautiful!

Aubree....I couldn't be happier, it's absolutely lovely. The stitching is gorgeous and the finishing perfect. I love that you took that extra time to make the hanger all out of seed beads, I;m very honored that you did this for me!

I have given away many stitching gifts over the years, and believe it or not....this is the first one I have received so it will always be special. And because I am in love with all things french, this particular ornament will be displayed all year round!

I know....I'm gushing...Thank you again so much Aubree! Your ornament is winging it's way to you as well. But I must admit, I feel a second rate stitcher after I've seen yours! I hope you will enjoy it.

Hello everyone! Just a little note, everyone is paired up so you can either start stitching or perhaps you have already started to stitch the ornament for your buddy. I'm setting the mail date for one month from now, November 15th. That way it has plenty of time to reach your buddy so they can enjoy it for the holidays.

Hello, I wanted to check in and let you know that I have sent out 23 personal invites to join this group today and hopefully we will have a good response...here's hoping! Anywho, the first one to join is Meadowso8 who will be paired up with me. The next two to join will be paired up and so on.

Please remember that this exchange is international. In the US & Canada we can mail by Dec. 1st, but if you are paired with someone elsewhere take that into consideration and perhaps mail during the early part of November. Also for those far travelers you may want to consider tracking it as I think that help with how the package is treated...just my feeling.

This is the ornament exchange. You only need to send one ornament, please don't send extras as others may not be able to. You may stitch on anything you like with any fibres you like...I think you should just have fun. Besides, I love some of the hand dyed aida they have come out with and it is much cheaper! Be sure that your ornament is finished beautifully, that it would be something you would love to receive yourself. Of course a little note or card is perfectly fine as it is my hope that we build new friendships. When you are paired up you will get your partners e-mail so when you are ready to ship you can get their snail mail addy.
